It kinda reminds me of the tank/healer combo from role-playing games. If the medic makes the heavy invulnerable for 10 seconds, that's a lotta pain. Before long we'll start to see some class combos, like the Heavy Medic combo.Īt the moment this is pretty powerful, the medic can take cover while healing the heavy. It can get pretty crowded too, seeing as a lot of the maps have small close-quarter areas, so it's a good thing you don't collide with your teammates, you just walk through them. I like though how when a match ends with no objectives done, it goes into "Sudden Death" mode where there are no respawns. Some things DO still need to be worked out, like the map 'Granary' which seems to always end in a stalemate. Well I think clan matches will be pretty fun, and pretty funny, but I've got my doubts as well as to whether it'll be taken seriously or not. I'm a bit worried about how long it'll last though Jung, I think it's good enough to be a classic but I've got my doubts about how long people will stick around. Like being able to see either a blue or red dot from where the sniper is aiming. When you get on a roll, your attacks start going critical, and this can propel you even faster up the scoreboard.Īnd it's literally tearing at the seams with funny gameplay ideas like that Jung - the likes of which take 9 years to accumulate. You get music and effects when you do well, it constantly gives you stats on how much damage you're doing, and even announces to the whole server when you're dominating someone.
#BEST TEAM FORTRESS 2 HOW TO#
It's also a game that's thought about how to reward the player and it's this that makes public play fun. They'll use these in the future to make balance changes as necessary, but you can also view anyone's stats on Steam friends. As expected from Valve, lots of stats are built into the game. Symmetrical teams will face off as RED vs BLU, on 6 maps from release, including the old-school classic Twoforts. His backstab is an instant kill, and he can sabotage turrets. He can dress up as enemies, and go invisible for a short time. The Heavy is big, slow, and can take massive amounts of punishment. Like the original, you have nine unique classes, and #2 is even more character driven, with wacky classes like the Engineer who can set up turrets, teleporters, and ammo dispensers. They've gone through 4 different games before deciding to release this one, and finally opted for a neat sort of animation look that goes beyond cel-shading, to make a style all their own. That's true, although it hasn't all been on this version. I think a 9 year development cycle must be some kind of record Jung. And for the Orange Box's multiplayer offering, we have the long, long, long awaited Team Fortress 2.
